But technically it's a modification of ICQ rather than AIM/iChat. IE, Your ICQ friends need to have the latest version of ICQ, and you add them to your iChat buddies list in much the same way as you do for a regular AIM buddy.. Just enter the number rather than a name, and enter it as an AIM name rather than .Mac. Works fine here.
so, iChat *does* in fact support ICQ usage then? i don't suppose it also allows you to set your 'mode' as well w/in its ICQ implementation? can i set myself in 'invisible' mode, and create ' away messages' like most ICQ clients?
i *really* want to run iChat for my messaging needs, but i use ICQ solely, and there is a real lack of proper ICQ clients on the Mac platform... i have been using 'Icy Juice' for a good while, the best ICQ-only client i've ever found, but it does have some bugs and problems, and hasn't been updated for over a year now...
if anyone could tell me whether the latest versions of iChat would work for my ICQ needs, especially 'invisible mode' support, i'd greatly appreciate it..!
