I am doing a podcast where I need to use 3 USB mics. I have used the Audio MIDI Setup to aggregate the 3 mics into one and I then select it in Garageband. However, only two of the mics are picking up any sound. I am 100% certain that all 3 mics are working when used individually but it seems that the aggregate device editor is assigning one mic to the left channel, one to the right and the other one is not being used. Is there any way around this without buying a mixer?

Yeah - there is another thread about this somewhere, but you basically have to assign each mic a channel in Garageband - it doesn't need you to alter the audio midi settings, it will cope with the fact that you have three mics.

Thanks...but I'm really inexperienced with the program and I have no idea what that means. Could you elaborate? I really appreciate the help.

Sorry - I'm not a garageband expert, but I saw another thread not long ago on exactly this - you should search the forum - the question has been answered before.

The solution didn't work. I forgot that it was on this message board or I would have stuck to that thread. Sorry about that.

Well, let's close this thread, and why don't you post on that one, describing what about it didn't work?
