Upon installing Tiger, I am having a wierd issue where iTunes will go non responsive with a spinning beach ball upon opening. Force quit closes the window and seems to quit the application, however the dock icon still remains in the "open" status and iTunes will not reopen unless I restart my computer.

My Tiger installation type was an achive/install. The problem came about immediatly after I began importing my archived purchased songs to the new iTunes library folder.

I have tried unistalling / reinstalling iTunes to no avail. Any help or insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated

i get similar problems with iphoto 05

i have the same problem with itunes. i have been trying to find the cause. try putting your computer to sleep instead of completely restarting.

i updated to version 4.8 and it still happens. but, i discovered that if itunes hangs at launch I can disconnect my ipod from my comp and itunes will open completely!

btw i'm using an ibook g4 800 with tiger. maybe we have a similar set up?
