All other FairPlay media can be put on any number of iDevices and used as long as you authorize that device with the iTunes account (up to five accounts/device). I just tried to transfer an iBook to my wife's iPad and it said during the sync process that it wasn't authorized. I have no trouble transferring movies or TV shows to her iPad even if purchased with my account.

Anyone been able to share an iBook?

Is the iPad using your iTunes account and iTunes logged in and authorized under the same?

I keep my whole family's set of devices on one iTunes account. My son's iPod, my wife's iPhone, and my iPad. That way, we can buy once and all share it.
