Before anyone flames me, I did do a search here and could not find an answer to my question.

Is there any way to prevent an external firewire drive from going to sleep? I have set the energy saver pane in system preferences to not put disks to sleep, my internals are fine but the external seems to ignore that preference. I record video using an eyeTV hybrid and the sw generates errors if the drive isn't accessible when a program starts.

The drive in question is a Seagate 750GB Pushbutton Back-up Hard Drive if it helps.
