Not a huge issue, but I just installed iBank on my MBP (running Leopard). I now love having the applications folder in my dock thanks to stacks in grid mode. THe one oddity so far though is the iBank icon which doesn't show up in stacks but does in the finder.

See images below, first is stacks, second is finder.

You like that grid display?

Yea, I like it over the fan version of grid, and I prefer it to pre-os 10.5 where you put the applications folder in the dock, and have to click and hold and have the list show up. Compared to both of those, I prefer the grid. Same for the downloads folder, I have mine set to grid, and actually use it. Granted, I don't use that view for Applications much, most of the time i just search for the app I want on Spotlight, but for those times when I need to go through and find a specific app and can't think of its name, Apps is in the dock.

mdc >> the iBank logo shows up now in stacks after a shut down.... why that would do it makes no sense to me.

Of course, the beauty, I'm now having the same issue with VM Ware Fusion. But, between the iBank logo showing up, and VM Ware Fusion not showing up in stacks, I have installed a few other freeware apps that I use that are showing up perfectly fine in stacks without any logging out/restarting.
