It would apply if slavery were still legal.

You mean the thirteenth Amendment to abolish it? It seems to me that concept was pretty "fixed".

The benefits of an American History education are evident. Because Porpoise is a subject and not a citizen, it's possible he hasn't had that education.

The only legitimate avenue of changing the Constitution is through the Amendment process.

The Thirteenth Amendment was the legal means for altering the Constitution regarding slavery.

I used to think they had no idea. But, after yesterday's bailout, the single greatest act of communism in our world's history, I'd say they absolutely *do* know what communism and socialism are.

In case you haven't read The Communist Manifesto, it states ALL private property, enterprise and resources be state owned. The only thing you can own is a gun. In the case of the first, since absolute power corrupts absolutely, all your rights disappear and you become a slave dependent on the state. In the case of the second point, you are a slave with a useless gun because the state will blow you up if you flinch.

More communists in disguise infiltrating government advisory boards:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7742917.stm

UK transport emissions could be cut by a quarter by 2020 if the government shifted its policies, a report claims.

The Campaign for Better Transport study urges ministers to focus on the biggest possible savings - by tackling lorries, vans, and long-distance commuters.

It also proposes an extra tax on air passengers, with proceeds redistributed among the entire population.
Yeah, tax people who need holiday or business money so that they'll never leave the country!

I love the idea of my money being redistributed among the "entire population". Does that mean racists, wife beaters, paedophiles, thieves, rapists and other mental people get my money or do they not exist in a Green or Communist system?

This is just incredible:

The Secretary of the Volkhov District Committee of the Communist Party Katerina Petrova has expressed the Party's position in her statement regarding the victory in the presidential election of the candidate of the liberal wing of the Democrat Party Barack Obama:

The days of the bloodthirsty and thieving Bush administration are ending. The American people have rejected the rabid Russophobia and anti-Sovietism of McCain. We, the Communists, believe that McCain must respond to his own defeat like an honorable officer and shoot himself in the head. Or there will be no respect left for him.

Even though Obama was supported by many left-wing forces in the U.S., including - at our request - The Communist Party of America, Barack is clearly being controlled by the Pentagon and Wall Street. Comrade Zyuganov has correctly observed with dismay that Obama is surrounded by slithering certified Russophobes - Brzezinski and the maniacal Albright. Therefore, Russia cannot lower its guard - we must be prepared for the continuation of the Cold War. But there still is a chance that Barack Obama chooses a realistic policy and brings new people into his team. The Communists and the Socialist Party USA, as well as Negro organizations, must demand that Obama appoint their representatives to key management positions! Let's also hope that Obama is intelligent enough to reach out to Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Korea, Zimbabwe, and Palestine.

We would like to alert the progressive forces of America: if Obama chooses the policies of reason and renounces Bush's policies of aggression and intervention, the CIA will try to assassinate the new president. To this end, the American Left must hide Obama in some sort of Uncle Tom's cabin. But in the event Obama succumbs to the pressure from the bankers and the military reactionaries, all the workers who have contributed money to his campaign must withdraw their dollars back.

We have noticed the hope and enthusiasm with which the people's America is celebrating the Negro boy's victory; how it is being cheered in the streets of American towns and villages by common toilers who are tired of the war in Iraq, of the absolute power of monopolies, of the hawks in the White House; it is impossible not to get excited at the sight of the dark-skinned Americans - so thirsty for change... You better not mislead them, Barack Obama! Do not leave them exposed to the forces of blind fate! Do not betray the legacy of glorious Americans - Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King! Or you won't be worth a red cent!"

During Thanksgiving, as American toiling masses traditionally give thanks to the government for what it has distributed to them, all conscientious members of community are required to experience the following emotions: (a) deep gratitude to the government for letting them exist; (b) utter unworthiness compared to the magnanimity of the state; (c) everlasting guilt for consuming what they have not produced, as well as for not giving back to the community according to their abilities. If you do not experience said emotions, you are not a conscientious member of community and shall be disposed of according to the Party Manual with all your belongings confiscated by the state and redistributed to the more worthy members according to their need.

Did that. All that came up was a comment on Digg and a blog post that also doesn't reference a source. That's why I asked for something *credible*. Reference a source, or it isn't true.

Interesting that such a statement can't be found referred to in more places than one blog and a Russian website claiming to be for the 'Communists of Petersburg and Leningrad region'.

If you have an issue with it take it up with the Communist Party mentioned, not us.

I'm taking it up with you because you posted this press release with nothing more than a "this is just incredible".
What do you think is the significance of this obscure statement made by the Secretary of the Volkhov District Committee of the Communist Party of Petersburg and Leningrad region?

Apologies. I don't think it's *my* responsibility to expend effort verifying the legitimacy of *your* unreferenced quotes.
