I like the old ones a lot, although I wouldn't mind a set of the new ones in addition. The new ones also have a real bad color, it's like a blueish gray, which we've already seen in countless icons and themes.

I can't choose. I wish them both to be realized.

it has to be blueish gray or else it looks more like brown than grey.

imho the new ones are way better. its much calmer and cleaner and alignment is better. 3D is great but will never be fully accomplished on our flat desktops.

on the other hand: its sascha's work right? and he gives it away for free, right? why should we tell him whats better? its his decision...

i bet you could get the old ones from him and make your own iconset out of it. anyone?

I was really looking forward to the old ones. The new ones look... probably just as nice, I'm just not too hyped about them anymore (I bet the Calabi ones will be nice though!).

I've always preferred folder icons that are angled in a similar style to the aqua folders. They've been angled that way since I got my first mac, and they don't feel folder-like to me at any other angle. I'll probably end up using the icons, anyway...

First. Sasha have showed more examples of the "old" ones. There were drives, folders, iPods etc. That is a plus and makes it easier to know how the icons will look together in the end.
Second. About the "new" icons he has only showed one folder in different colours. No, drives, no iPods etc. Nothing. Thats is not much and makes it a little hard to know how the icons will look when they will be released.
Third. Sasha is known as one of the best icondesigners out there. Maybe the best. I trust him about the "new" icons. Even though we havent seen much, I think they will be awesome when well see the whole collection comleted.
Fourth. I hope that he will release them both. I like the "old" ones best right know. Atleast, from what Ive seen. Maybe Il change my mind when I see more of the "new" ones.

The future looks good when it comes to icons... thanks to Sasha.
