Well almost:

Although the TiBook is still lighter and has Firewire (Why didn't they put firewire into this? Probably it's greatest fault, yet easiest to fix.), it looks pretty nice IMO. At least a decent alternative for those who need to use a PC.

umm it has firewire
The VPR Matrix 200A5 has many other nice touches, as well. You can load discs directly into the DVD/CD-RW drive slot--no tray slides out to grab your CD. You can also play CDs with the lid closed, using controls on the front edge. You'll also find two USB 2.0 and two FireWire ports.
ypour right though it is 1 pound heavier than the TiBook... very nice notebook...wish i had the money

I'm not a big fan of "let's take a black laptop and put a magnesium lid on it" type laptops. If Porsche designed it, I would have expected something more visually elegant. The sony laptops look better than this IMO.

It's not designed by Porsche, the German car company.

When I think Quality computing experience, I think "Best Buy," only not. They'll probably sell pretty well, though, just not to me. Can't quite make out the embossed logo on the back of the lid... Anybody?

That is *identical* to the TiBook.
What a load of ****...
It's on /.
An anonymous reader writes "Cnet is reporting that BestBuy is selling a porsche designed widescreen ultra thin laptop the looks almost exactly like a Tibook. Sadly, it runs windows so no one will actually want to use one for real work, but it looks pretty cool for minesweeper. Ah, I guess that the TiBook is no longer a status symbol if you can run Windows on it. It has all the trimmings, like those "made for windows 2k stickers" that get the screen all nasty when you close it."

I'm aware of the difference between Porsche Design and Porsche the car company, but thanks for clarifying anyway.
