ok, i just downloaded firebird to test it out. i mounted the disk image and, not thinking, drug the icon to the dock instead of the applications folder. i then dismounted the disk image, and clicked on the icon in the dock. the disk image mounted itself and launched the application.

has this feature always been there?

present tense = dig
past tense = dug

present tense = drag
past tense != drug (fool)
past tense = dragged

so just in cased you're wondering, the past tense of dig is not "digged"

There's a difference between hanged and hung. Hung refers to objects. Hanged refers to the execution of people.

"drug as a past tense or past participle is vulgar and substandard."

meaning ok for informal use. i write in a spoken tone.
