DashboardWidgets - Showcase

Ugly as hell, but unlike every other Google widget I've tested, including Apple's, the results display in Dashboard, rather than a web browser (which defeats the purpose behind the widgets IMO). Check it out, pretty cool for a first release.

I still find Safari the better way to go personally.

What in the world do you need a widget for when all modern browsers have a Google search bar right in the browser window?

If you're a wikipedia junkie like me, you'll come across things you want to know more about. This is not merely a search widget, it'll also open responsive web pages inside of the dashboard.

And you need that instead of a browser... why?

Incidentally you can add additional search engines to Firefox's search bar, so you don't need a million widgets to search whatever you want. I have Google, Google Image, Amazon, Wikipedia, Yahoo, the PHP manual, several dictionaries, etc. in mine.

I'm aware that you can add additional search engines to Firefox. Can you find one that will explain your desire to probe my use of a particular piece of software?

I agree...People use their computers in different ways. I use either SafariStand and use my address bar for searches with a prefix of g. Or I use Quicksilver to do it as well. I'm not a big Dashboard guy, but I know people that just love them. Different strokes for different folks...
