I'm sure that the answer to my question is somewhere in these threads, but I can't get the search function working. So here goes...

I'm trying to delete a folder that contains about 300 .mp3's, but OS X won't let me. I hit Command-I for the folder that they're located in and noticed that it's locked, but X won't let me unlock it (the "Locked Chckbox is blocked out). I've checked the privileges and every onhas Read/Write access. I've logged on as root in Net Info Manager and that didn't do anything. i went into the UNIX CLI, logged on as root and used the rm * command, still nada. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance...

You're on the right path.

This will wipe out anything:

rm -rf /path/to/folder/

the r is for recursive (go into subfolders to zap stuff in them too)
the f is for force (get rid of it and don't talk back)

You need to own the files you are zapping so to be sure do it as root.

sudo rm -rf /path/to/folder/

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS!

When you hit the return key it does it without asking questions.
If your not careful you can wipe your whole disk out. as in rm -rf /

Sure, you can do it with the 'boot into 9' thing and that's the safer way to go, but that won't get you your 5 UNIX Guru points.
You can take the dude out of So Cal, but you can't take the dude outta the dude, dude!
