Well I have my new iMac G5, but there's a problem. The USB adapter that I used on my last PC doesn't want to cooperate with my iMac. Does anyone have any experience dealing with this Linksys product on 10.3?

it's probably not compatible.
what kind of usb device is it? usb ethernet, and used for dsl? If so, throw it in the trash and get an ethernet dsl modem. Bask in the 21st century.

Good advise.
Also, isn't the ISP providing a modem free of charge?

I'm assuming the talk is of those long-dead phoneline networking devices that were popular before Wi-Fi came out.
The best solution would be to find an old ethernet-phoneline-networking bridge on eBay.
