Hi everyone,

I have OS X set up with different network locations for our different offices. When a user goes to a different office, the network location they change to has a different proxy server, which is fine.

However, Internet Explorer 5.2.2 stays on the proxy server that was manually entered into it and doesn't change to match the proxy server that is in the new network location.

Is there a way around this, or do the users just need to manually change the proxy server in IE every time they travel?

A way around it would be to use a browser other than IE...

I believe the actual reasoning is that IE (and other MS apps) appear to check the network configuration only when launched.

This means that if network settings are changed after the app is launched, it doesn't notice the change until you quit and relaunch the application.

Similar problems occur with Entourage and mail servers when changing locations.
