Hi everyone,

I read that iTunes 4 allows users to do streaming sharing across a TCP/IP LAN. Is this a feature enabled by default? Does it require an administrator account to enable?

Our users are are regular users (not admins), and it would be helpful to know if they are blocked from enabling this sharing.

I know that in OS X File Sharing that in order to enable it, you have to be an administrator. So I am *assuming* that it is the same for iTunes? (that's a biiig assuming... :-) )

Thanks!

Regular users can turn it on. You enable it in the iTunes preferences.

But, as an administrator you can disable it by turning on the firewall on each machine. The library sharing requires port 3689 to be open on the sharing machine.
