Hi everyone,

I am looking for a global ISP dialer for OS X. Basically, this would allow our users to dial (via modem) a local number from wherever they are in the world, and be able to get a connection. They could then check their work mail, browse the web, etc.

I have so far tried iPassConnect and AT&T Global Dialer. Both are good, but there is one *major* problem. When numbers are dialed from either program, these programs create a network connection *on the fly*, which has different modem/network settings from ones I create. For example, I want the dialer to ignore a dial tone and just dial the number. So I created a network location that has this setting unchecked. However, when you dial a number, the new network location that is created has it checked. There is no way to modify this location as it only exists from when you first dial to when you disconnect. If you can't connect to begin with and hit cancel, the location disappears. Also, there is no setting in the program to "save" that network location it creates, so that you can modify it later. (I'm sorry if this sounds confusing...)

Any suggestions would be helpful.

What's wrong with Internet Connect, which comes with OS X? It will do everything thing you mention in your post, and it's free.

It sounds to me like you may be making your situation more difficult than it needs to be.
