How does CS3 perform on the macbook with 2gb of ram? My files sizes are around 100-200mb. Thanks

Photoshop performs just fine. But then again, I don't do anything complex.

Works well. Just be patient on opening files that large.

is there a big difference (performance) between the macbook pro and macbook, other than the graphics card, screen resolution and max memory?

Thanks

Don't forget HD speed. You can get 7200 RPM drives for the Pro.

Small screen. And don't forget: laptop screens are only 8-bit color.

I'm planning on having an external monitor as my main palette and an external scratch disk. Knowing this would there be a big difference btw the macbook pro and macbook? Also, is the santa rosa a big deal? The only thing may be the 800mhz bus speed but I probably won't notice a difference. Thanks

External drives don't really solve the latency because they are connected via USB so that acts as a bottleneck. An internal 7200RPM drive would work better.

You can put a 7200 RPM drive in a MacBook, too, and upgrading the hard drive on a MacBook is really quite easy.
