I was seriously thinking of getting "Mac OS X" license plates (Ohio) for my bright blue (Electric Blue, almost exact same color as Aqua) car in November, when it was time to renew. But I procrastinated and ended up renewing online, and you can't get custom plates online. Plus I'm out of the state at school anyway so it would have been difficult.

But when I move to New York maybe I'll do it, unless someone else takes it first...

I'm definately getting personallized plates soon, but haven't decided what to get.....my mom used to have "B HAPPI"

I'd probably get something like "MR BLUE" or "BLUEMAN"

I just installed a 32-node Mac-based cluster of Cubes in the back of my El Camino. I also scibbled "I luvs the macs" in blue magic marker (almost the same color as aqua) on the driver and passenger side doors.

Several street toughs waved me down and I initially thought they were going to give me a high five but I realized otherwize when I saw the 9-millimeter handguns in their hands! You had better believe I revved the engine and bolted!

I have already put in my order for the vanity plate "TOMLUVMAC" and I only hope that I am not taken for a homosexual, because I likes the womens!

"MAC OSX" is still free in MA as of 3/8/01. I was always thinking I wanted a license plate like "COMP SI" but I don't have a nice enough car to make it ok. Also, It might scare the muggles away.

In the UK, all license plates have to comform to the standard which is currently :

Letter - Digit(s) (max 3) - 3 Letters

You get some interesting 'personalised' plates, like "H3LLO". We are on 'Y' at the moment, so after 'Z' the whole system changes again. I think we are moving to '2 letters - 2 digits - 3 letters' or something.

Last time I was in SF I saw a pickup with VA tags that said either "iMac" or "MacOS" -- I can't remember which. I didn't know there were Mac users in Virginia.

Also, NJ is a great place to live as long as you don't live in Camden, Trenton, Elizabeth, or Newark. (I'm from Trenton.) Actually, parts of Newark are nice. There are also some kickass restaurants in Trenton and Newark as well.

I dunno, it's certainly an interesting idea.

I'm not really proud of my car, though, and it's not really anything I want to be associated with. When/if I get a new one, then it's another story. But by then, someone will probably have taken it . . .

don't get me wrong, I'm a mac fanatic, but you guys are f*cking NERDS! They're just computers! You're getting licence plates that state how much you love an OS?? WTF???

That's like putting bumper stickers all over your car that say "I LOVE PROSCAN VCR'S!!!" "CRAZY ABOUT BRITA WATER FILTERS!!!" "CITIBANK ATM INTERFACES ROCK!!!"

I know this isn't true for everyone here, but some of you are sitting at your macs for hours on macintosh boards all the time posting about how much you love macs, speculating about future macs, talking about apple apple apple, and that's the equivelent to buying a TV just to watch a show about upcoming TV technology and better TV models and infomercials selling TVs.

Get a f*cking life!
