I can't get my sig to show up. If I go to "Edit Profile" and then update, it shows up, but just for a day or so, then back to a missing image icon.

In my sig I have the following line of code:

(IMG)http://www.geocities.com/aol4osx/digimagesig.gif(/IMG)

(I'm using parentheses instead of brackets so you folks can see the code).

Am I doing this wrong, or is Geocities a bad idea to store graphics?
Maybe a mac.com page instead?

Thanks for any help,

DigiMage

Geocities doesn't allow hotlinking graphics.

If you put the image in your iDisk Sites folder, you can access it at:

Yeah, don't you hate that? My ISP (Qwest) used to allow hotlinking graphics, but then they switched it recently, so I had to change my sig. It took me a while to figure out what happened.

That's why it's great to have your own domain!
That, and the picture association thread, it avoids annoying other webmasters. I'm paying for the storage space, might as well use it eh?

btw, clear your browser's image cache when you want to see if an image is working.
