Sorry for the gloating, but I'm pretty excited. After 6 years of my "lampshade" g4 iMac, I saved up gift cards from last Christmas/Birthday and this Christmas/Birthday and bought one of the 24" iMac's (2.8ghz/2gb/320gb) from the Refurb store. I'm SUPER excited!

I'm going to order a 4gb kit of ram to max it out, and then an external HD enclosure for an extra drive I have laying around.......I'll post pics later this week when it arrives.

Congrats on the new iMac! I remember when my MacBook arrived two years ago. I did not even say hi to the guy from UPS and before he knew it I had closed the door in his face.

BTW, I though Apple giftcards had an expiration date!

Anyways, congratulations again on the iMac and I'm looking forward on seeing those pictures

Be happy, and gloat!

There's no rule here that states you have to look sad when you get a new mac .

Those who can't afford it at the moment (and that's probably where your feeling comes from) will think they are next

That's why it's more amusing to read about people getting new macs than about executions.

cspuryear,

Congrats on the purchase. I too saved up Christmas and birthday money the last month and for the first time have a 20" iMac (2.66ghz/2gig/320gb) and couldn't be happier. It's silly fast and looks super nice on my desk. It's taking me a little while to learn the Mac Way of doing things but I'm getting there. Enjoy your new iMac and sorry to hijack the thread.

Yup, it's the Logitech S530 that I used w/ my old iMac. It's a great set, so I decided to just keep using it.

Nice machine cspuryear.

Make sure that you have Apple Care - just in case.

Congratulations.

I received mine in early December and upgraded the RAM to 4Gb soon after. The extra memory is a benefit.

I've had AppleCare for other machines but have yet to use it. I know this sounds like fuzzy reasoning but are these new iMacs prone to failing? I wonder if a person might be better off to gamble?
Cheers

You could always pick up the warranty from a discounter, such as http://gamestock.ecrater.com.
