[Trapper]

Is there any registry of iDisks that have public folders? I wouldn't mind taking a look at what people have to offer on their public folders, but since I don't know any names of users who have such folders, I am not able to take a peek. Any suggestions of which iDisks I should check out?

Okay, I give up. It seems no one is willing to post their iDisk info. So, I'll lead by example. I have a few small applescripts on my iDisk. My user name is threno.

I dont have iDisk yet, can I access the public disks with out it?

You don't need to have your own iDisk to access other people's iDisk's. All you need is Mac OS 9 and an iTools account (but there are ways of getting around that).

My system is a little to slow to run OS 9 with out making me wait alot.

btw. I'm using OS9, so don't know if the scripts will work for everyone or not. Should work for 8.X and up (I think). Sorry that I don't have a definitive answer on that, still pretty new to AppleScript�

Unfortunately wlonh's tutorial like says:

"Caveats - The following features of iTools do not work on older systems:


* Accessing other users' iDisk public folders "

So I guess that means that you need Mac OS 9 to use public disks.

aha! well, there may be a way yet... search macintouch and macfixit, seems there was a flurry of alternative methods posted at those sites shortly after iTools came out

running OS 9 as i am it has never been an issue for me
