Yes, the FaceID scanner is a 3D scanner.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

If they can hide the cameras and earpiece under the screen, bravo.

I like the notch, but not enough to keep it if given the choice.

After the whole boondoggle I had with my 5s battery failing, I'd hoped that a "new" one (refurb as a replacement) would feel faster/better. It did not. And with the (PRODUCT) RED version of the 8 on the shelf now, my wife and I stepped into the current decade and then some.

We now both have the iPhone 8, hers in red and mine in Space Gray, and it's amazing how much faster, better, and smoother it is than the 5s. Yes, I know it's all about a much more capable processor, and probably a faster clock, etc., but the experience of using it is what surprises me. It's responsive to the point that it feels like a fast desktop computer - at least compared to the 5s.

There are some interesting differences that are taking some getting used to. The sleep button on the side, for example. I have to pay attention to not touch a volume button when I try to put the phone to sleep, or it just doesn't sleep. And the Home button, even though it's so much more responsive than the mechanical button I was used to.

Finally, the display is bigger. Yep. But it's also so much clearer, thanks to Retina technology and a MUCH higher resolution. I don't squint at browser pages as much, and I can make out a lot more detail, even when the screen is in direct sun.

I'm looking forward to playing with the camera too. I'm glad we waited, but I'm glad we finally moved on this.
