No. If you're gonna do it, you should do it right the first time. Remember, these may be used for other things besides DVD too.

The more you scan the better the interpolation will be. Everyone with a scanner knows this.

Wow, impressive, but if they are scanned in @ 4000 lines wouldn't the size of the movie then be too big to fit on a DVD?

Scan today at 4000 lines, make todays DVDs at 480 lines, tomorrow's HD-DVDs at 1080 lines, and new digital prints for release at theaters at 4000 lines!
