Do we have any PS3 online players in here? I think most of us are 360 players.

Going to look awesome.

From what I can tell the PS3 people really don't care about playing with friends online as much.

I logged on yesterday and noticed Peter had the distinction of having killed a Rockstar employee. I was getting on to play a few games of multi for the first time in a few weeks. First of two games, BAM, I get the achievement too. What a coincidence.

--

I also finally got my rolled over achievement last night. My longest cop chase now stands at almost 30 minutes thanks to me going up and down the airport runway constantly trying for the achievement. It took completely screwing up on a different occasion, though. I hit the last jump and I realized it was going to send me over the wall onto the beach and water. As I'm landing in the water, the achievement unlocks.

Weirder yet, I had been keeping track of my rolls stats for the past 15 minutes, and by its count, I only did 4 rolls, instead of the 5 required. Flips must factor in though, cause I probably did one of those.

Odd day in general.

Are there achievements on the PS3, or is it xclusive 360? (lol, I don't know if anyone will get that, its pretty rubbish). But seriously, are there achievements on the PS3 for GTA?

What a let down. Is there anything special on the PS3 for GTA that the xbox doesn't have?

Can you kill a date, or just "frighten" her? I have a sandbox game running and tried to set her on fire, but it bounced off her. I did succeed in blowing her up( and a hooker), along with Niko in a 6 star chase after Niko crossed a blockade bridge.

I'm a little curious as to why the separate games. It's not like screwing around has any real effect on the story.

I dunno, these are by far the dumbest people I've dealt with online. Half the time they don't know what they're doing, or ignore it. Hell, I had some guy yesterday who on a game of turfwar decided to go to a corner of the map and do nothing. Best I can figure, he was trying to get a free-ride, otherwise it makes no sense.

I played GTA4 for ~15h now and I'm somewhere between 15-20%...but this is the first GTA game ever for me so I'm still wondering if I understand everything!
Why is my car disappearing from time to time?
When I go home and save the game it usually is still there but sometimes when I'm on a mission and park the car it's sometimes gone when I come back (for example: I park the car, walk up to the dealer, give him the package and walk back to the car but it's gone)!?!?

I find this especially annoying when I have a fast car for stunts but then have to go and search for a new one!

I think cars only stay if they are in the parking spaces outside your flat or in a lock up. If you leave them parked in a random street they might not stay.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Yeah, this where rockstar should have taken a page from Saints Row and left the last vehicle you touched persistent, even if you leave and go quite a distance.

Ok, thanks....so that's normal!

Another question:
Do I really have to remember which of the 40+ stunts I already accomplished or can I see this somewhere?
I only have done 7 so far but I found 8 according to the stats and I just can't remember which one I gave up before I stopped playing!

Oh and how do you really recognize stunts? I thought all the time that they are always made of wooden planks but just yesterday I found a pepple stone jump and now I'm not sure anymore if I really have to jump everything that gives me the chance to!?

If you do a stunt jump again, it'll tell you if you've done it before, otherwise, no, for some reason they refuse to show such discoveries on the map in the pause menu.

I have to say, I wasn't terribly impressed with the stunt jumps in this itineration. The coolest ones seem to sacrifice your vehicle at the end, and a lot of the regular ones seem boringly stringent.

I still can't hit that jump next to your safehouse in Alderny, where you have to jump the river. I guess you have to do it on a NRG900 only? I can't quite make it on the 600 and I've yet to even come close with a car.

But every time I try on the 900 I end up landing on my head, no matter what I do.

Is it the one that takes you all the way to Algonquin? Yeah, I somehow managed that trick the first time through. It was the Helicopter one right next to it that pissed me off endlessly.

I got the ps3 version and spent a big chunk of my weekend playing it. Wow. So even though I'm a novice at this, and relatively clumsy with the controls I'm advancing through the game nicely.

The thing that annoys me is all the driving to and from mission starting points. I screwed up the follow the train mission, shot a bunch of cops and generally wreaked havoc, dying in a blaze of exploding glory. But now I have to drive all the way there again and start over. Driving gets old... even in a Turismo.

Also - am I really going to have to learn to shoot and drive? It's probably the skill I'm the most hopeless at at this point.

Otherwise I love how they detailed my city. How Niko basically starts out in the Russian neighborhood of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. How the people up in the Bohan are shadier and more willing to fight. How much random crime is occuring at all times.

Also, did I have to shoot the gay guy on our date? What would have happened had I not?

As a driver it didn't bother me too much, but if you're like some of the more lazy in our crew *cough*Kevin*cough* the taxi system is your friend.

Not really. One of the missions taught me that sometimes you're not allowed to kill someone before a set point. Basically, just follow them for a while and see if they crash, then take them out.

There a few exceptions though, some of the Most Wanted missions in particular.

You had a date with a gay guy??
When does that happen? Are you further in the game then me (~15% I think)?

Well I must be unless you're ignoring side missions from Brucie. I won't spoil it, and it's certainly not hard - which made me wonder why I was doing it in the first place...

I love Brucie, by the way. And Little Jacob - I love the look on Niko's face when he's trying understand just wtf LJ is saying.

Oh, I forgot to mention my friend and I found a better spot for shoot-outs than the park. The Tursimo dealership. Two levels, a balcony for rocketing helis if you want, and plenty of get away vehicles.

When you get in 6 stars, get in a turismo or something, and then go on a mad run with all your guns loaded to the max, then start shooting backwards through the window screens of the vehicles chasing you, its so fun, especially if you're pretty good at shooting and driving at the same time! I did it at my mates house, its proper funny.

It's my type 'o game. I don't pick up a lot of titles, I just play the **** out of the ones I love (particularly when its been over 3 years since the last title).

Coincidentally, I hit 100 hours this weekend.

Edit: Sick of seeing this at the top again, Horseshit?

Is there a cheat to show the stunt jumps you have completed and the ones you haven't?

I have been trying to keep track of the stunt jumps I've completed and by marking them off of a map I have. The map shows the location of the jumps. I have crossed them all off the map, but still have one to do. Damn! I have no idea which one I crossed off that I didn't complete. If there's not a way to show which ones have/haven't been completed, I'll be super bummed.

To paraphrase Virgil 'The Turk' Sollozzo "She's still alive. I hit her with five shots and she's still alive!" (shotgun). You can't kill her!!

anyway, has anyone taken a date to the strip club? I drove there taking Carmen out to see if the V was there and voila! it was there. You can't take Michelle there, though.
