I wouldn't be surprized. The mobile phone market is so fast moving it's not difficult to be out of date before you even release the hand set - especially in Europe where common standards have made it much easier & faster to roll out improvements.
A lot of phones here in the UK support 3G and now Wi-Fi & if the iPhone is to do well it should really feature these if it wants to pander to business users.
Phones are throw away items these days, easily out of date in 6 months & because they are heavily subsidized by the networks, most people will just get rid to get the latest when their year contract is up. I see a few networks offering 18 month contracts now but you must be crazy to sign up to anything over 12 months
