Right? Such a wasted opportunity.
Maybe they're saving something amazing for 25.

Need? I suppose not. But the original Mac was such a groundbreaking product, it deserves something!
Great excuse for releasing an unusual-color Special Edition Mac or something.
And we can't forget the goat leather palm wrests and cover for the manual!

I was gonna make a whole thread dedicated to that, but already saw Tooki's happy birthday thread. Now I can't be the first poster to say that

It's been drinking in Canada and on military bases for some time now.

Happy 21st B-Day to the Mac. Only four more years till the 25th, maybe there will be a surprise at MWSF '09.

I was thinking it'd be cool if Apple released a 25th-year Mac on the same day they release their post-OS X operating system... then I realized OS X probably (probably!) won't see the end of its life cycle until at least 2011 (based off of the new 1.5 year cycle and assuming it'll stop at 10.9). So the stars aren't aligning quite right.
Fred's birthday should be honored too -- after all, his voice was what everybody seemed to be clapping about at the Mac's revealing!
Okay, I'll shut it now.
