From TUAW.com:

Unless you live under a rock (sorry if you're a TUAW-reading snail), then you have probably heard about the Apple event scheduled for today. Since Apple doesn't live-stream their press events any more, we must sit around our Macs, constantly refreshing our browsers ... just like people did in the 'ole days (personally, I can't wait for the Morse Code Apple updates).

If you're inclined to follow the whole spoiler live blog thing, then here are a few sites that will be providing live coverage of the event via staffers on site:

Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/14/l...tebooks-event/
Ars Technica: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post...ook-event.html
Gizmodo: http://live.gizmodo.com/
CNET: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-10...ag=mncol;title
SlashGear: http://live.slashgear.com/
MacWorld: http://www.macworld.com/article/1360...p_1?lsrc=top_1
MacRumors (via Twitter): http://twitter.com/macrumors

We will also be providing a meta-liveblog of the entire event (just like we've done in the past), and will be providing coverage throughout the entire day. You can follow our updates via Twitter, and we also recommend tracking #apple or #macbook on Twitter search. The event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (see the chart below for world-wide times).

07:00AM - Hawaii
10:00AM - Pacific
11:00AM - Mountain
12:00PM - Central
01:00PM - Eastern
06:00PM - London
07:00PM - Paris
09:00PM - Moscow
02:00AM - Tokyo (October 15th)

Can we just go ahead and declare this the official thread for the event instead of three separate threads like the "Let's Rock" event?

Definitely an improvement.

Also, it makes this thread look popular.

As with anyone with a romantic interest in a moderator, I feel that I should start a Feedback thread about him.

Leo Laporte just stated earlier that there are no cameras allowed at all (so he isn’t even going). Surely they can’t forbid iPhones though, so I hope someone with a jailbroken iPhone will stream the whole thing via qik.com — chances are slim though.

When do they ever 'allow' cameras?

I’ve never been to one of those events so I have no clue. But yeah, valid point.

What a let down !! The choice of a 16" screen is bizarre. And hopefully the use of a permanent MobileMe connection instead of having a hard drive will drive WiMax usage.

Ah well, roll on MacWorld.

Instead of starting with a thin piece of aluminum and adding more pieces to the structure, they’re now going to start from one piece of aluminum and remove pieces. This makes the structure stronger and more rigid.
