I might be jumping the gun, but in about 5 minutes an important announcement will be live on CNN. The Vatican TV network is displaying a icon of something that experts saying signifies the death of the pope.

We should pray that he pulls through this if im wrong.

And on April fools.

At any rate, how many public appearances do you think he is going to make from now on?

"Vatican says pope's condition has worsened, breathing has become shallow."

I so totally posted in The Pope Has Died!11!! thread before the Pope has died! How do I do it?

I'd say you jumped the gun just a tad.

That being said, I'm sure you made many salivate after just reading your thread's title.

Everyone must die eventually. The pope is sick and has been for a long time. I pray for an end to his suffering not matter what form it may take.

I also pray he doesn't end up brain dead on a feeding tube.

I would have thought that Christians should be pretty used to people dying, then recovering.

"CNN has not comfirmed Italian media reports of Pope's death"

apparently the system by which the Vatican confirms the death to the media has not been activated.
They're awaiting the official statement (as they should..)

Sadly he's in critical grave condition. May he go with peace. God Bless You Pope Paul II.

The rumors of his death have been slightly exaggerated. In any case, he was in general a force for good in the world and a figure of undeniable influence. And all decent people should be able to respect that.

Ah no.

Sympathy crossed religious boundaries for John Paul, who has worked for better relations with both Jews and Muslims. Muslims in France were praying for the pontiff, leading French Muslim Dalil Boubakeur said, describing him as a "man of peace."
"For us Muslims, he is a man of God, a man who wanted to serve God by serving humanity," said Boubakeur, who is president of the French Council of the Muslim Faith.

Firstly, he isn't a christian he's a catholic. Secondly, argue with his religion all you want but you can't say he did anything but good on this earth.

So you don't regard Catholics as Christians?
And the Pope's adamant refusal to allow any form of contraception most certainly has done and will continue to do harm to millions of women.

BTW, both Christianity and Islam are offshoot of Judaism. Not surprising that they share a similar view of good and evil.

What part of the word "confirmed" do the people here on MacNN not "get"?!? "Confirmed" means "first believed, then double-checked" -- confirming means to double-check. Hearing the initial report is NOT confirmed, as you learned by it being wrong.

This thread is stupid. Unlike the pope, the thread's time has come. Ka-chink.
