Well I didn't win a free steak. It was hard to match up with Team Beef when there was over 60,000 gamers in Bungie Day playlist. I did hit a 30,000cR super jackpot after my 3rd game. That was cool.

You're thinking of fatty. I don't trade-in games.

Playing achievement HORSE counts as playing Halo the way being in a demolition derby counts as "driving a car".

Here's the catch: I'm too lazy to organize it. Time, maps, whatever. I don't care. It is Halo, after all.

Ok, so maybe not this weekend. I'm super busy. Give me a week to download the maps and organize something. Maybe we can get more people to join. Leonard? Bogues?

The more the merrier, to a certain degree. They do say that it can take them upwards of 30 min to solve some of the challenges (and that's with only two people). I think we'll need to set aside a two hour block minimum. And given how some of the maps have multiple challenges, you may need to to only download a few stogie (mostly as back ups in case one really sucks or is impossible).

I'm usually on 7:30pm - 10:00pm (eastern time zone) on a Saturday. Might be able to stretch that to 11:00pm for one night.
Sunday, I'm not usually on that late, usually I'm on in the afternoon and early evening.

We could always play Achievement PIG if we need to speed things up. I downloaded a bunch of maps featured in the Achievement Horse videos # 31 thru 34. (Study these videos before we meetup.) A lot of these later maps include teleporters at the bottom of the track. This should help speed up the pace. (No 8 second respawn suicide penalties.)
I think we should start off with the simple maps and work our way up the ones that have multiple stages. What meetup times work for everyone? Saturday night (7:30pm - 10pm Eastern) or Sunday evening (3pm - 5:30pm Eastern)

Correct. But I thought the rule was if the second person completes the challenge, the 3rd person only gets one more try. At least that's what happened to me on the first map. (Jumping on the rock.)

Hey wait a minute. Now that I think about it, Leonard was already out of the game. He had HORSE before we started the last map. Since I completed the challenge first, you get the letter.

Dakar had HO. That last map didn't ccunt.
Can't wait for the pics and videos!
Oh, and Dakar, eventually did succeed in dying on that last map after we showed how it's done a few times.

Ok, I finally got around to posting some pics and videos of our Achievement HORSE meetup. In the screenshots below, Stogie is Team Green, Dakar is Team Purple and Leonard is Team Blue. Here's a small recap of each map:
The Plunge
This challenge is quite simple. Jump off the ledge and land without dying. You must use the edge of the rock to cushion your fall.
Here is my first attempt. (Although you can't see it in this picture, Leonard is sporting the Blue Flame Helmet armor effect. Dakar - Heart Attack and Stogie - Inclement Weather)
Dakar's first attempt. (Haha)
Dakar's second attempt. (Lucky motherf**ker!)
Leonard finally lands it 5 minutes later.
And of course I fail to make the jump without dying.
Results after the first map:
Stogie - H
Dakar - No letter
Leonard - No letter

Map #2
The Shredder
The map was quite fun. There were 3 stages.
1. Launch off the ramp in a Warthog and land on the platform. (easy)
2. Get out of the vehicle and run through a falling debris field to reach the tele-porter up top. (hard)
3. Pickup a weapon and shoot the top of the letter "i" in WIN to detonate the land mines. (easy)
Once again Dakar was the first person to complete this challenge.
Here's video of him running through the shredder portion of the map.
Dakar's Run.mp4 (4.6MB)
I came in second with the help of Armor Lock.
Stogie's Run.mp4 (5.6MB)
And poor Leonard got all the way to the end of the Shredder but ran past the tele-porter and died.
Leonard's Run.mp4 (5.3MB)
Results after the second map:
Stogie - H
Dakar - No letter
Leonard - H

Map #3
Wraith Jump
This one was easy. Get in a Wrath, launch off the man cannon, bounce off the energy field into a tele-porter and set off the land mines. Sorry, I didn't take any screenshots of this challenge.
I do however have a video of all 3 of us completing it.
Wraith Jump.mp4 (17MB)
Results after third map:

Map #4
Ring of Fire
F**CK THIS MAP!!!
The challenge: Launch a Mongoose off the ramp, through a ring of land mines and hit the one remaining mine below. DISCLAIMER: Making it through the ring doesn't guarantee that you will hit the mine below.
It was basically 30 minutes of this:
missed jumps.mp4 (7.1MB)
(That's Leonard at the end making it through the hoop but missing the bottom mine.)
I guess now would be a good time in inform Dakar of his accomplishment. When we were playing this map, he claimed to have made it through the ring and detonated the mine below. Moments later he said he wasn't sure so we kept on playing. After going back and looking at the footage, I can say he clearly hit the mine. Not only that but he did it again exactly 2 minutes later.
Here are the videos proving he completed the challenge. (twice)
Ring of Fire 1.mp4 (2.2MB)
Ring of Fire 2.mp4 (2.2MB)
At the time, we thought nobody completed the challenge so we decided to give a letter to the person that made it through the ring the least amount of times. That person was me. (I only made it through once.)
Results after the fourth map:
Stogie - HO
Dakar - No letters
Leonard - H

Thanks Stogie. When I get home, I'll have to check some of this out.
Although you can't see it in this picture, Leonard is sporting the Blue Flame Helmet armor effect.
Yeah, I should have changed my team color to red. It would have been easier to see my blue flame helmet. My campaign (customized) armor color is red. I guess I've been playing too much coop campaign and firefight, where there aren't team colors.
Dakar will be stoked about hearing that.

Once again Dakar was the first person to complete this challenge.
That was the one where Dakar didn't know what to do at that point... because he was facing the wrong way!

So, I've had time to review most of the videos, and all I have to say is, how does it feel to be pwned by a guy that doesn't play Halo? My only letter came from a map no one could beat.

It looks like someone forgot to change the weekly challenge this week for HALO Reach. The weekly challenge is Ride the Wave – Complete 150 Waves in Firefight Matchmaking – 12000 cR. Which is the same as last week.
An easy 12000 CR

343 Studios took over the playlists/challenges on Aug 2nd so I'm not surprised. Even the daily challenges are the same as last Monday.
