Hey all. DVD ripping/encoding question: Iím ripping and encoding movies and dvd series Iíve purchase so I can watch em on the run. (Carrying around DVDís everywhere is just silly to me.) I usually use ad-hoc apps Iíve found that encodes to an avi file with a divx codec, but Iím wondering if anyone else out there is in this practice and has a better method/app/codec to use. Iím a quality freak though, so for example: a 20-or so minute 1 GB Family Guy episode off the DVD will get encoded down to a 100 MB .avi file so it still looks nice even full screened.

So if anyone has better methods, codecs or software, please feel free to share tips. Right now Iím using 0SEx 0.0110a1.app to rip and D-Vision 2 to encode.. One of em doesnít have any support, the other app is in english but the support files are in french, so anything will help. Thanks!

one caveate: I am a quality freak, and I am pretty opposed to any apparent 'all-in-one' app.. I have never seen an app like that produce a quality file. If you really feel you have a good example that can trump my opinion, I'm open to the possibility.
this isn't who it would be
if it wasn't who it is
