A few syncs ago, whilst using Missing Sync to keep my BlackJack (Windows Mobile - I know, I know) and Address Book n'sync, I suddenly saw that a large chunk of my contacts suddenly had "phonetic lastname" entries that contained one of their email addresses. The "phonetic firstname" field is empty - the email address is always in the "phonetic lastname" field.

Anyone have ANY idea what the heck is going on? "Phonetic lastname" doesn't appear to even be part of Address Book's templates, so I can't figure any way of simply blowing that field away across the board. I tried searching for an AppleScript to handle this kind of thing at sites like Macscripter, but was unsuccessful.

Any help? Much appreciated.
