Ignore list.

What a useful feature.

I have a stalker, who usually has some inane comment to make on most of my posts, soon after I have posted.

(And other posters too)

Reminds me of a boy at school, who was very clever, in a year above his age, looked down on you, but was socially inept.

(A new thread because similar threads were to old to bump)

Dude, you're a "senior user" - you're not famous enough to have your own stalker yet.
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

I'm probably on someone's ignore list, but I don't have one myself. MHO is that even though someone is a twat in one thread, they may contribute something important and/or interesting in another. Maybe its because I don't just post in the Lounge.

My ignore list is mostly of people who aren't here anymore, who were probably alter-accounts anyhow.

Mods can use the ignore setting?

Edit: more precisely, was your use of present tense intentional?

I don’t get offended easy, so no need to use the ignore function.

Mods can use the ignore function. At least, it's not disabled.

I don't bother using it. Like seriously how hard is it to skip a post of some one. I don't like it because sometimes you try to apologize to some one but they will never see it because they ignored you never letting you get the chance to patch things up.

He said inane comments. Since my comments are always magnificently anti-inane, it couldn't possibly be me.

The OP is saying how God is great, and how she will be the most beautiful thing that you will ever see.

Computer-aided ignoring weakens your ignoring muscles for real life, where you need them most. I don't touch it.

Interesting. I find it’s the other way around. Ignoring something is so much easier in real life than on the Internet, since reacting in real life is likely to have consequences (not all of them nice), while on the Internet, you’re usually quite safe behind your screen. So if anything, I’d say the ignore function is for those whose real-life ignore muscles aren’t pumped enough for Internet ignoredom.

(Naturally, I don’t use it myself)

The other way around is disabled, though, if I recall correctly: mods and admins can’t be put on anyone’s ignore list. I seem to recall someone once making an angry feedback thread because he wanted to ignore tooki or Lateralus or Cold Warrior or something like that, but the board wouldn’t let him.

(Makes sense, of course, since warnings and infractions are sent as PMs, and members you have on ignore can’t PM you)

I don't see the point of an ignore list on the internet. If you don't like what you see, don't read the threads.

I would quote a few verses about not being easily offended, but that might land me on someone else's ignore list.

This all reminds of when Triumph the insult comic dog went to the people waiting in line for a Star Wars movie:

Triumph: You’re a big nerd

Star Wars Nerd: I don’t speak to lesser species

Triumph: You don’t speak to lesser species eh? You must be a lonely man.

Ah - I thought you might have meant me.

Your sense of self-importance is overblown. That you can't read my response makes your delusion even funnier.

(some people don't understand time zones and their relation to Internet activity, apparently)

OTOH - just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you.
