What are they supposed to do, burn all their inventory?

Clearly third-party retailers have not bought the entire supply from them.

I don't get the prices they ahve on G5s at all. A dual 2.3ghz G5 is the same price as a new quad mac pro. WTF. They need to slash the G5 prices in pretty much half, and it'd be reasonable.

at some point they'll draw the line in the sand and not support that architecture anymore. now is definitely too soon, but i wouldnt be surprised if 10.6 was intel only.

Until Adobe has updated Photoshop and the rest of the CS to UniversalBinary, the G5 PowerMacs are very valuable. More so than the MacPros.

That is why Apple is still selling PowerMacs.

not until around the time Leopard ships, maybe a little later. The Mac Pros llok really nice, but I'll jump on a Quad G5 once the price drops hit (a Quad G5 still costs more than a similarly configured Mac Pro).

Maybe if 10.6 isn't released until 2010. Because unless I'm mistaken, Apple has said they will fully support the PowerPC through at least the end of this decade.
