Yeah, but you're talking several $1000 processors, more RAM than most computers could ever hold, an ungodly amount of HD space, a graphics card that would make most gamers wet themselves, sophisticated video editing software and two of the most expensive displays available. No joke that's going to cost a lot!

And the name of the product is Mac Pro - meant for professionals - people who make money on their machine. A $5000 machine pays for itself in most creative environments pretty fast.

Unless I win the lottery, I see myself buying a Mac Pro in about 7 years. (Just got my Sawtooth last year)

I was curious. I would like either a MacBook Pro or Mac Pro. I'm not terribly thrilled with the iMac or MacMini. I like towers. I won't buy a MBP until they work the bugs out.

How could you like the MBP but not like the iMac? It's essentially the same thing, only cheaper and not portable.

Then a Mac Pro would be even worse for you. An iMac is pretty easy to carry around compared to a G5.

True. I'm really not a fan of the iMac design though. All in one things make me uneasy.
