I have a current Mac Mini I have in a rack with an AV distribution system, and I want to use a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad with it. Can I do something like get an active USB extender and put a Bluetooth dongle on it?

It sounds workable. I have a bluetooth dongle, but couldn't find it just now to test with a system that already has BT.

What's the cable distance?

Edit - found the old dongle. Plugging it in causes BT to activate even if it's turned off. The light on the dongle blinks, so it appears to be accepted as an extended access point.
