Moved iTunes library = Lost songs (explanation mark)

I moved my library from one exernal drive to another and over half of my songs have the dreaded explanation mark.
it seems I have two choices so far.
1. Manually re-associate each song with the source (one at firgging time)
2. re-load (delete and drop) my music into itunes (80 gigs)
I DONT want to lose my song rattings because most of my playlist are smart ones based upon that.
Is there a way to relink the songs with out having to do them one at a time?
Hell I would be better off if I can just do one per album and the rest followed...
anyone?.... anyone?

Move them back, then, while iTunes is running, move them to where you want. iTunes will track the files if it's open when they're moved.

so move them back to the old drive? and back to the new drive while iTunes is running? I can try it but it's a 2 hour trip each way with 80 gigs.

Unless you want to find each song manually (iTunes doesn't have a good way to find them all at once), you'll just have to recreate your Library, losing your playlists and play counts.

i could care less about song plays but I put a lot of time into my RATTINGS!!!!!.... arrrgh
