I'm trying to get my system to log snort output to a unix socket so I can be alerted from and application called "letter stick"... everytime I launch letter stick, I get and error message stating that the file var/log/snort can not be written to because I don't have permission... I'm logged in as administrator... how do I change permissions so the log can be written to? Thanks...

The defeault permission for the Snort log is rw------- so you need to change for rw-r--r-- with chmod 644 /var/log/snort
