What kind of phone do you have? Why? I bought a motorola v600 because I find that it has a substantial feel to it, and it has a sharp screen. My friend has one, which is another reason that I grew to like the v600. All the romantic images of this phone spring vividly to life from the v600's box, which is in fact the fourth largest phone box that motorola has produced.. Wallpaper pictures of fiestas and flamenco dancing are so tempting that many subscribers spend their entire day looking at them -- but don't; the 02 bubble wallpaper holds many surprises, from the lovely blue colour and the farmlands, sandy coastline, and tree-clad sierras.

Predating the presidential election by a few months, the v600 sits like a worn but still-shining jewel at the tip of a motorola logo. Stretching north from here is the gently sloping keypad area, bordered by the customisable buttons of Frontera-- a land of animated prancing horses, and one of the world's best-known ringtones, a polyphonic mix that starts off with a man saying "Hello Moto" followed by a techno beat, which has barely changed in centuries.

With the discovery of a patent leather case, my passion for the v600 reached even dizzier heights of splendor, outshining even my love for my computer. Much of this treasure was siphoned off to pay for the throne's increasingly expensive foreign phone bills and bankers' debts, but enough was left over to fuel a cultural flowering and building bonanza that can still be seen today in the industrial design of other motorola phones.

What type of mobile phone do you have?

Sony Ericsson T630.

Why? Because my T68i broke and I wanted a phone that wasn't available here yet.

Nokia 6600.

Wonderful phone, best I've ever had. Bluetooth works great, voice commands with the Uhura-like headset. Syncs perfectly with the Mac. Camera is good for a mobile and the battery lasts quite long.
Screen is great, even in direct sunlight. The reception is flawless (used so far in US, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, England, France, Hong Kong and China. The speakerphone is a nice option that I use regularly and thought I'd never use.
The use of an mmc card (currently at 128 mb) means space is no problem and the extras a great. Skins, themes (including Macs) and even cool applications like one that reads cell signals and changes profiles (automatically switching me to a work profile in the office, regular at home and to stealth at my favorite movie theatre).
The video is good. I have some home movies exported via QT Pro, an episode of the Simpsons , the Animatrix episodes and just recently, a friend gave me a copy of Sonic for the N-Gage platform (which is a bit dodgy but the game is fun to play).
It'll fit in the pocket or on the waist. Overall, I love it (can't you tell?).

May be like me, no phone, but looking around for a good mac compatible. I'm also looking for the best deal. I'm considering the pay as you go option considering my talking habits (100 minutes a month would be a stretch)

Most people I know end up paying at least $50 a month or more for their cell phones.

Currently got a Sony Ericsson T610 on T-Mobile and really couldn't be happier with it.

Apart from I've managed to dent up the battery cover pretty badly - never mind, my dealer is scrounging me up a replacement FOC.

SE T610

It was bluetooth so I could link to my Tungsten T, and at the time it seemed the most Mac compatible phone, it was also on an offer of being free on a contract (in August last year), so I grabbed one. Now that August is getting nearer, I'm thinking upgrade replacement.

Bad things about the T610 are reception, the screen and the camera. Reception is crap in certain places, and the screen is crap in daylight or sunlight, and the camera is crap full stop! I understand that TFT screens are better in daylight, and I think I'll be going for a Nokia again this time (I used to have a 3310).

So I've narrowed down the Nokia range of 3 gazillion slightly different handsets to something with bluetooth, a TFT screen, decent reception and a big screen like the T610, and a free or cheap upgrade, a camera would be ok, but I'm not really arsed about one as I've got a proper digital camera now . I'm thinking 6600 or N-Gage QD, or maybe a 6230. The 3650 is too big and has a stupid keypad (I know they brought a new version out, but the pad is still round ) so thats out for me.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I want something with Bluetooth as I think I would use that a good big. I also like the pay as you go plans because you can receive unlimited free SMS messages (but they gouge you when you send (10 per).

I also want iSync compatibility.

Ugh, it's very difficult to decide.

Nokia 6800.

This phone replaced my home phone as well. I love it. Only problem is that it doesn't sync with iSync via USB (unless someone knows otherwise). No Bluetooth either. The current version of it, the 6820, has Bluetooth, but also does not support iSync. Bummer. Great phones for browsing mmode, emailing or text messaging though.

Treo 600... and as soon as Palm releases either a Bluetooth SD card or a 610/650 (rumors are everywhere) with Bluetooth and hi-res screen... well, then that's what I will have.

I have had most manufacturers, but for some reason Treo hits the spot.

Moto T720
Samsung SGH-X105

Nokia 8290

Sony Z100 Dwave
Sony S1100 (this phone was great for its time)

I like to have a new phone about once a year. I am obsessed with gadgets.

Not so much on my normal phone, but on my 3 phone, and when I'm in a "3G Zone", I use the video call function quite a bit. Also the digital video/still camera on it as well.

I recently abandoned Nokia for S.E. and a T616. I had always preferred Nokia, but didn't like the phones they offer that are Bluetooth compatible. This new phone works like a dream with my Mac and iSync. I'm thrilled with that. Otherwise, I like that it's small but still has weight, the battery life is decent (but not as good as I had with Nokia), the screen is bright and clear, the interface took a little getting used to but it's fine.

The value of getting a phone that plays nice with my Mac... uploading instead of manually entering... a few hundred contact... it's just terrific.

And though the picture quality blows, I still have fun with that little camera function.
