I just bought a Mac Pro and spent yesterday transferring files to it (mainly my music and pictures from iPhoto). I tried to use backup to restore my iphoto collection to the MP HD but for some reason it refuses to copy all my pictures from my collection. Is it OK to physically copy the iphoto library on my PPC to my MP? Will this work ?

The difference between PPC an Intel is on the applications, not the archives. You could copy your library and you could eventually tell iPhoto to use that library by holding Option when you start the app.

Y no entienden nada... ¡y cómo se divierten!...

i was able to copy most of my stuff over from my g4 mac mini to my intel mbp using migration assistant. for those that did not copy successfully, i just networked the two computers and drag and dropped what I needed.

Yes migration assistant just hung for a while. I just gave up booted up my PB in firewire mode and dragged the stuff over. So much faster.

Apple has some serious work to do on Backup3.1 - its embarrassing.
