Are we Mac Users screwed again with Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Half my favourite servers seem to be 'gone'... in the list they just have a IP address (or what looks like an IP address). And those that have info like the map name and people playing beside the IP Address, refuse my connecction giving some sort of client version problem.

I'm currently using RTCW 1.32 with the hack to play against 1.33 servers. I didn't bother with the 1.33 beta patch. I heard problems with the 1.33 beta.

Didn't Aspyr say they would release RTCW 1.4? Didn't they say they'd release it closer to when the PC version was released?

I've always had the same problem w/ RTCW. Any fix would be appreciated.

It's my understanding that the 1.4 patch is sitting in approvals and has been for a long time (as is the RtCW single player demo...). The developer mentioned in a different forum that the patches usually take a day to roll in the changes, but the approvals process takes forever and a week.

I can't understand why the approval phase for RTCW takes so long... what are ID and Activision doing, waiting for a Mac from Apple to try it on? On top of it, this is just a minor release of bug fixes and improvements.

Maybe we should bribe Westlake for an under-the-table copy of the update.

Wow, that really stinks. I love playing multiplayer online. After the fiasco with 1.3, I thought they would get their act together. It's sad because most the servers upgrade to the new software within a few weeks.

I was told by Rick Chen, RTCW-developper @ Aspyr that they were still working on the patch (received e-mail 2 weeks ago).
And that he couldn't give me a date as to when the patch will be released. My guess is we'll have to wait a few weeks longer... unfortunately...

If indeed they are also still waiting for approvals, I must say that it's in ID's best interest to supply Aspyr the approvals asap, knowing that RTCW is VERY popular with mac-users too and that in the end we all make those ppl @ ID a bit richer then they already are!
