Would you like an iPhone-friendly NN?

I have had an iPod Touch for less than a week and logging on the forum with it is a hassle. I know for sure I would like an iPhone-compatible NN. How about you?

I don't even know what that means.
But I find posting and running despicable, so I have to say that any move to make it easier to post to the MacNN forums using a mobile device would be a most unwelcome change, indeed.

Try going on MacNN on an iPhone or iPod Touch and them tell me how it feels

Haha. Yes, but I find myself typing really fast at times. The auto-corrector is almost flawless.

In the forums a little would help (the login pop-up, for example, disappears when you first start to type) but overall things work OK, if somewhat slow. The regular MacNN site crashes mobile Safari fairly regularly for me.

Neowin has a decent mobile template for their forums. Maybe take a cue from them?

MacNN on the iPhone is horrible.
It feels like it's optimized to NOT work well.

It works okay except for logging in, which takes several tries because the login menu doesn't work properly.

Na, the layout is horribly useless on a smaller screen.
The long thread titles either require to use a small zoom factor, and then you can't read anything, or use a higher zoom, but having to scroll back and forth all the time.
The layout really sucks browsing threads on the iPhone.
That's why I almost never surf 'NN when I'm not at a desktop or laptop computer.

And all the different text sizes makes it even more uncomfortable.

On the iPhone or iTouch, try to access your User CP. If you are logged out, you'll be prompted for an in-page user name and password instead of the javascript small drop-down.
That tip is courtesy of reader50 in a Feedback post I can't find at the moment.

To be honest, I don't really want to browse the forums while I'm away from a computer. I don't want to spend every waking hour on a message board; I spend too much time here as it is.
