I just got a wired Mighty Mouse. However, my pref pane doesn't look like Apple's in that it lacks the zoom option. Here is Apple's:

and here is mine:

Any idea why mine is different?

Have you tried reinstalling the software from the cd, as you don't have the 360 scrolling either.

This is very interesting, because I have reinstalled the software from the CD. And it's still as depicted above--without the zoom option.

Next I think I'll run the 10.4.7 combo updater.

Thanks,
Chris

Well...I just reinstalled the 10.4.7 combo updater and my mouse pane hasn't changed. This is very strange.

I also plugged the Mighty Mouse into my wife's eMac and her prefpane looks just like mine.

I'm surprised the wireless mouse would have more functions. I'd expect those features to be part of the mouse driver, and applicable to both.

yeah, seems kinda funny. I did a little bit of searching on Mac Help and apparently both mice can be customized the same way (there is only one document for both wired and wireless). I sure don't get it

See my screen shots in this thread: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=302803

I installed the software off the CD included with the wireless MM, and I've got not only the zoom control & 360° scroll control, but so does my trackpad's preference pane now - even when the mouse isn't on.
