I am needing to accomplish this feat. What native OSX applications are there available?

I would intially try to telnet in with the Terminal. I used to do this regularly with an AS 400. Enter telnet and the ip addess of the AS400, you should get the login screen.

Otherwise, there is a pacakge from NLynx named macmidrange that is specifically for this. Years ago I used the predecessor of that software to link to an AS400 when IBM said it coudn't be done. You should have seen the espression of the salesman's and SE's face!

well, we use the Nlynx client, but I am looking for a OSX native application. We have to have the ability to use encription as our firewall requires a "visa" for the remote users..

Celview from CelCorp
(http://www.celview.com/products/productsas400.htm)
should do the trick... I don't know the price on it. I downloaded a shareware 5250 emulator (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15859)
Mocha MacX and it worked well to connect. Obviously you will lost the advanced features, but for just 5250 emulation, it should work.
