I've got an ongoing, agonizing issue with .Mac. I'm not asking for answers - since I'm paying Apple I expect them to fix it. I'm just wondering if any of you have seen or heard of anything like this. The problem started when I couldn't authenticate to my original registered PowerBook. .Mac support had me blow away my keychain with: /System/Library/Frameworks/SecurityFoundation.framework/Versions/A/Resources/kcSync.app/Contents/MacOS/kcSync -reset

Now, and you'll LOVE this: when I try to sync to .Mac my login keychain is erased - yes, ERASED. Gone. After, rebuilding it twice I zeroed (reformatted) my HD and reinstalled everything FRESH (running 10.4.8 now). The same damn problem still occurs!

Well, .Mac support didn't tell me they were closing out this issue, but they did. I resubmitted the problem to them, and well see what they say. Do you all have any idea why syncing to .Mac would kill my local login keychain?

Thanks,
Keith

You likely have Keychain sync on. Turn it off (.Mac preference pane) and see how that goes.
