Hi all,

So I downloaded Flip4Mac WMV 2.3.5.4 in an attempt to get video working but still nothing!

any ideas would be greatly appreciated... THANKS!!

Actually the same thing happens in VLC - audio but no video

and the file is fine bc I emailed it to a friend and they were able to view it on a PC.

Thanks anyway... any other ideas?

Download MediaInfo Mac, then tell us what video codecs are being used. Both the general codec name given near the top, and the several codec lines from the video stream info.

The video is in MVP2 (Windows Media Video 9.1 Image V2) which may be new enough / obscure enough for VLC to not support it yet. Microsoft does love to create things that are incompatible with other platforms, to help you make the right choice and buy Windows.

VLC will eventually be able to play it. My other choices are to try Mplayer OSX Extended (latest version rev14test3 available here) and Movist. One of them may have managed early support.

Tried Mplayer..

Still just audio no video...

Will try movist another time.. gotta run
