Hi all, I figure since you are all tech geeks, most of you have a cell phone, but I am one of the few that doesn't, and has no knowledge of cell phones. Which cell phone is under $150, has an OK camera, has Verizon or Cingular, and is the best feature wise (in your opinion). Thanks!

OK, I just checked on there, but it's so confuzzling! Whats the best phone from Sony Ericcson? I saw the W600, which is a fair bit of cash for a phone... Anything under 150 $ that's good from Sony Ericcson?

I just got the w600, remember it has an iPod built in hence the price.
At any rate when you sign up as a new customer you should get steep discounts.

The w600 is nice, but if you can, get the w800i. Best phone on the planet.

What makes the w800i better than the w600? If I don't care about the music or the camera, and I don't care for candybar phones, does it offer much?
I'm not seriously looking as I'm, locked into Sprint, but in August, I'm up ,and I mostly care about integration with OS X (address book, file transfer and tethering).

I heard it actually has some downsides to the w600 as much sorter battery life and quieter speakers.

If you want a quad-band GPS phone, Cingular has the Motorola RAZR V3, and the V557. I just got the V557, myself, because of the ability to use it internationally.
I had to send it to get unlocked so I can use other companies' SIM cards (such as Greece, where I go frequently). There's NO way I'm going to pay 99 cents a minute to use my phone in Greece.

With the razor, it is very trendy and sorta cheap feeling.
Make sure you also try using it next to a sony phone, the Motorola's interface is horrible, pretty much the worst on the market.

I just got a Motorola e850 for use on Verizon, as it seemed the best of the iSync compatible phones available in my area, and was available at a greatly reduced educational discount.
It also seems to work well as a means to put your Bluetooth enabled OS X laptop online where internet access is not available.

Hey, all I am saying is that i have seen a few people compare the 2 and that is what they mentioned. Could be a firmware thing with the 800. The k750 had REALLY bad battery life till they updated it.

I didn't like the RAZR... too thin and I thought it would bend just by being in my pocket.
I got the V557 because it was the only other quad-band GPS phone they had.

I think i may save up for the W600 - looks like a pretty sweet phone, way better than any of Motorolas - those are just flashy crap phones, IMO (RAZR, SLVR, etc). Thanks guys!

On a contract you can get one for under $150. On ebay they are under $250.

I think that LG makes a very good phone. Consumer Reports recommends them. My wife likes hers.

u can also try the Nokia N70. I just got it not long ago and it's quite good. Syncs perfectly with my powerbook. All you need is to make some changes to ur iSync config files. Info is easily googled.

I'm thinking about copping an unlocked SE Z520a from Amazon to use with my T-Mobile service. The locked one comes with Cingular service and I'm not about to switch since my company pays the bill. I'm replacing an aging SE T610 and I definitely like the Sony Ericsson UI and its compatibility with iSync and Salling Clicker. That's the plan ... unless Apple comes out with a cell phone at the special event next week!

I was going to say the same thing. The x520 is an exceptional phone from what I have seen.
you can also get it for under $100 unlocked off ebay.

The 6882 is great! Definitely my favorite. I'm curious about the N90. I read on another forum that Nokia is doing a contest that gives away one of these plus a day with famous photographers...man, I just want the phone! Free is less than $150, hah!
Time to get some sleep, I'm getting delirous.
