Finally saw The Hurt Locker.

Best movie I've seen all year. I hope it wins Best Picture and Best Director.

District 9 sequel in pre-production

DISTRICT 10 (Production title at least) is now in pre-production with filming to start in the October time frame this year. Shooting locations will be South Africa once again as well as New Zealand. There has been no word on whether it will be shot in S3D or not as of yet. You will be the first to know! Peter Jackson is again producing the sequel with Neill Blomkamp directing.

I hope it is NOT shot in 3D. Or if they do, I hope they don't shoot it in such a way that it negatively affects the 2D version.

The epilogue of District 9 seemed to indicate a possible sequel. Not that the story didn't-off goes the alien to "get help" back home...-but stating how all the prawns had been moved to a new reservation called District 10 just sort of underscored it.
