If I had to guess thats mine.
BTW Dakar, wen't in the Nether gate i built at the intersection of link/sek/and I, came out the creeper face. At night. You know the side of you place were you keep getting surprised by creepers. (kind of fitting that part)

Yeah, I was going to post about that later. I saw you set up the temp Portal at sek's but I didn't realize you hadn't "primed" it. It took me two trips through the one I constructed later before I realized I shouldn't have been ending up back at my place if the glitch was working. So, uh, sorry about that. I really hope this glitch doesn't carry on for months.
Oh and so the announcement is official, Creeper Isle is now home of the Dakarian nether portal.

Apparently if you build a gate in the nether were the second gate should be then they work right. Just don't ask me were the gate should be. I wonder what would happen if your gate was disabled and then the one at Sek's was used.

Feel free to try that. Take a stone out of my top-side Portal, then go walk through the other one.

I'll reiterate here for the wider audience that an expedition to the nether would be a good group adventure. I've only spent a few minuted there. Went through 30 arrows without killing the ghast.

I'm with you on a group adventure. I went through the second time because the first was just a panicked peek and the second I wandered for a few second before I found a crap load of glowstone by accident. So of course, karma kicked in today:
Made glowstone drop more loot
Made the recipe sizes for creating cloth blocks and glowstone blocks smaller (2x2 instead of 3x3)
1.6.6 is out.

So, I think they changed the tree spawning in 1.5. Remember when andi chopped the big tree and I freaked? and then later I learned you could force trees to grow big with properly constructed tubes. Well I've been trying the same method lately and getting medium sized sickly trees. it sucks.
Also, here's one for every one to chime in on? What do you think about the entrance to my keep - should I have row of trees lining each side of the road leading the way in? If so, what type (normal or pine)?

So your forced to use bone meal to force grow the tree several times till it gets big?
I think today is my unintentional innuendo day.
I find birch saplings don't grow at all without 2 spaces of clearance but the originals do.
I don't like the look of the pine trees. Especially the top leafing ones.

Okay the portal at Dakar's and the one at the intersection of me and Sek's have different portals in the nether. The one from Sek's is gnast safe.

Not to rain on your parade, but I am a little concerned with how much TNT you used. Blaze has to weigh in on whether its enough to crash the server.
Also, what did you use for the vid capture?

I started getting concerned about that about halfway, to be honest. I thought I'd need about 50-75, but forgot just how huge my place is. I've seen videos online of guys exploding several hundred TNT in SMP, but I'm not sure how it'll work.
My limited (read: no) experience with TNT made me nervous about how far it needed to be spread out. I kept reading three blocks away.
For video capture I just used Quicktime's screen recording.

I don't think it will even get remotely close to the tunnels. Considering the blast radius from videos I've watched online, I don't believe it should even go more than a block or two below MY surface area.

Oh, and just in case it's too much TNT, I have an alternate plan that will explode the place in three layers, one layer at a time. No fear.

BTW, what are you going to do if there's niggling blocks left over?
And I think you should probably add a few to the roof.

I'll have to build a dirt scaffolding and knick the pieces away. It'll be time-consuming, but I'm willing to take that risk. Building the place was time-consuming, and I'm willing to start over, so why worry about a few stray blocks?
Using a MBP, 2.53 GHz i5, 4 GB memory, GeForce GT 330M. It was pretty laggy.

I thought the vid was smooth enough.
It occurs to me I have no idea what my iMac is. Not i5, but I think 3 Ghz.

The video itself wasn't terrible, but recording it was mildly difficult. Click left, wait, turn, shut door, wait, door shuts, click right, eventual turn...annoying.
What size screen on your iMac?

24" I believe.
Yeah, that might be a lot of pixels to push around.
Assuming I don't fullscreen it, though, can I crop the Quicktime video afterwards to eliminate the desktop?
Sorry for the derail, guys.

I don't think you can crop it out in Quicktime, but I'm pretty sure you can do it in iMovie.

My first though is grab the steel door(s). My second was to second Dakar on the roof needs a few. Looks like the first floor will survive too. I'm AFK in the grinder ATM to replace the donated gunpowder.
I think with SMP the extra separation of the engine from the UI lets it keep simulating even when the UI cannot update fast enough. The client just get infinite lag.

10-4 on the roof. I'm actually hoping the first floor (more or less) survives. I only rigged the parts that I wanted to blow.
Sooooo, in layman's terms...it'll be okay?

Stuff like this would be easier to record if you could adjust in game time relative to real world time, then you could put the game in slow-mo

Same spot.
I'm keeping the part of the structure that leads down to my mines, but am going to make the current spot into "something else."

Well, I'm curious how big the new one will be, and how it won't be as empty as the old corporate HQ.

It won't be huge. If I can't fill it with something, then I won't build it.
Less deadness, less perfect symmetry.

Well sand in minecraft is affected by gravity, it should be possible to make a functional sand silo.
