ObjectSupportLib is a baddie, has been a baddie for some time now (since 8.0 ?) and will cause strange behavior if not outright crashy behavior... it is apparently being installed on Macs by 3rd party software installers these days, causing much grief...

ObjectSupportLib file should be removed from any new Mac with extreme prejudice.

OLDER MacOS'es and systems that use older MacOS'es need it.

search the Apple TIL for ObjectSupportLib info: http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.n...+search+simple

Another similar thing to watch out for: some applications feel quite justified in installing QuickTime 2.5 over 4.0! This wreaks endless amounts of havoc on the system. The best rule of thumb is don't let any application install QuickTime. Upgrade it yourself by double-clicking the "QuickTime Updater" in the QuickTime folder on your hard drive.

Also, watch out for programs that install older versions of AppleScript and the AppleScriptlib.
