Ahhwinter. Took damn long enough. The cannucks have been holding out on the cold fronts.
I'm glad it's finally winter. That means snow.

You great little capitalist you. Hell, if you lived around here I'd pay you to shovel my driveway when it snows.

Did I mention that my drive is 1/4 mile long?

BTW, 20F here. Downright balmy compared to some of the places mentioned.

Last night it was a little below zero (around -3 I think) Fahrenheit with a wind chill of -20. Tonight it's a bit warmer (12/-5 according to weather.com) but still very cold.

I used to live in Bowling Green -- my sincerest regrets at you having to endure the weather in that place. Some of my fondest memories are from BG, but none of them involve the constant 30 MPH wind or permafrost blanket between November and April.

Hang on. What do you mean only December?

December means Christmas. Christmas means snow. Snow means cold.

Seriously, I'm getting pretty tired of people who actually seem to be surprised by the fact that it gets cold in the winter. Next thing, they'll be telling me their newfound amazement at the fact that water is wet.

Whoa. I had no idea I was so bitter about something so trivial. Guess it's cuz I'm from Maine. It seems to be the reason for a lot of my personal problems.

It's 18F here, feels like 0F. But I'm up on a hill so the wind is a hell of a lot worse and I think it feels like -1bagillionF. The other day it was in the ones. Be fun when McDonald's runs their buy-one-get-one-for-the-temp-at-noon deal. Or something like that.

And we have no snow.

But I'll be in Japan next week where its 60F. Can't wait.

On my first trip to Asia, I bought Pocky at the Narita airport before heading back to the States. It was a novelty for co-workers, until a week later when someone bought some at a store in town.

i mean that there are still three months of this and it will only get colder yet. my town is at the southern end of a lake 40 miles long and 2 miles wide (thus, finger) so as the lake cools, so does the town. december is still rather mild compared to surrounding areas, because the lake moderates the temperature.

and now it's -3.

I didn't bother to scrape it this morning... it was interesting not being able to see for the first 15 minutes of the drive. And i decided, the faster you drive, the faster the engine warms up, the faster the heat starts working... so i was going about 60 in a 25 with ice covered windows... good times.

1/4 mile isn't that bad. Can't be worse than my aunt's driveway+porch. That might be a 5 hour ordeal. 5x6=$30. I'd say that's fair.
I have a good resistance to cold weather. Up until last week I was going to school in short sleeves. But the wind is the killer. Right now, it feels like 6, but this morning it was 9 without wind chill, so I'd say it was -8 or so this morning. I call that the "instant runny nose" temperature.

No snow.

ya you can, who ever told you you cant swim in the ocean in the summer time?

and the best picture that shows people swiming are from the nude beach so I wont post that hehe. Sure the water isnt as warm as California, but its not super cold either in the summer. And there are a lot of fresh water beachs around a bunch of lakes that get really really warm.

$30 my ass. It's a nasty stretch of steep road. I wouldn't have anyone attempt it for less than $50, maybe even $60 (think Matterhorn ). When it gets really bad I call the guys from the county maintenance crew and they come and grade and salt it for me.

Hmm. It seems that lowest temperature is beginning to equal biggest penis, and I'm rapidly losing ground. Damn warmer weather. Honestly though, I love winter. Even though school's off in the summer, I love the Christmas season and snow. It's great.
